Château Moulin Pey-Labrie owes its name to a very old mill located in the heart of the prestigious “Canon-Fronsac” appellation, and to the locality where the vineyard is located, “Pey” meaning “the top of the hillside”. Paul Princeteau in 1860, father of the famous animal painter and friend of Toulouse-Lautrec, owned the estate.

Le Château Moulin Pey-Labrie doit son nom à un très vieux moulin placé en plein cœur de la prestigieuse appellation : « Canon-Fronsac », et au lieu-dit où se situe le vignoble « Pey » voulant dire « le haut du coteau ». Paul Princeteau en 1860, père du célèbre peintre animalier et ami de Toulouse-Lautrec, fut propriétaire du domaine.

Today, Bénédicte and Grégoire Hubau bring their attentive care to the cultivation and vinification of the estate. Originally from the North of France, their love and passion for wine led them to leave their roots and settle at Moulin Pey-Labrie.

Its vineyards produce wines with a very dark, black cherry colour, a full-bodied, generous nose and beautiful, well-melted woody tannins, ensuring unequalled longevity. Moulin Pey-Labrie has long enjoyed a special reputation in the region that it has never deserved as much as it does today.
