Place de Bordeaux en Primeur preview

To kick off the official en primeur tastings the Grand Cercle holds a preview tasting of the new vintage for négociants and brokers.

Every year, Grand Cercle des Vins de Bordeaux offers a preview of the new vintage for about 150 négociants and brokers, who operate on the Place de Bordeaux and in the wider Gironde area.
This event kicks off the official en primeur tastings.

The market of vintages ready for sale

This market is the opportunity for our talented chateaux to present their vintage ready for sale to the press and regional professionals.

This market is the leading event after the summer break. It is when our talented chateaux present their vintage that is ready for sale to négociants, brokers, wine stores, sommeliers, restaurants and regional journalists.

En Primeur weekend for the press

Just before the official tastings, the weekend is spent studying the new vintage. It is reserved exclusively for the press.

Just before the official en primeur tastings, journalists are invited to come and taste the new vintage, blind or with labels shown. This is a very studious weekend reserved exclusively for the wine trade press, enabling the journalists to get to know the vintage en primeur in ideal tasting conditions.

This annual event is an amazing opportunity for British trade professionals and the press to preview the vintage en primeur as well as the latest vintage ready for sale.

For three days, hundreds of wine professionals freely taste the new vintage of all our wines.

En primeur week is an important time for the entire Bordeaux area, and a flagship event for the Grand Cercle.
For three days, hundreds of French and international wine professionals - merchants, wine stores, super- and hypermarket buyers, restaurants, sommeliers and importers - freely taste the new vintage of all our wines.

Le Cercle d'Or (Gold Circle)

This is a contest between schools to challenge students, who are studying for professions in the wine industry. These lead to amazing exchanges between winegrowers and the young generation!

All through the year, Grand Cercle chateaux set out to meet students at tasting evenings.
These budding professionals, who are learning to become sommeliers, winegrowers and salespeople, are our future ambassadors.
The highlight of these events is the Cercle d'Or contest with theoretical and practical tests that are conducted in a friendly atmosphere.
These lead to amazing exchanges between winegrowers and the young generation, who share the same passion for wine!
