The 18 hectare estate was established in the mid-nineteenth century by Monsieur Raymond-Lafon. Although château Raymond-Lafon was not able to be distinguished by the old 1855 classification(established too late in the 1850’s)it nevertheless has always been recognized as one of the greatest wines of its appellation very often assimilated first cru classé by connoissors and wine critiques from around the world.In 1972 , Francine and Pierre Meslier acquired the château,Pierre Meslier who managed Yquem for 27 years was able to apply his considerable experience and knowledge.The estate is located just across the road from this prestigious estate.

Wines.
Traditional wines fruit of numerous pickings of hand picked botrytised grapes.Yield very LOW averages 10 to 15 hectoliters per hectare.A two year ageing in barrels. Complex, concentrated wines balanced with great acidity and a very long finish . In the mouth, tropical and citrus fruits balance the wine liqueur. Better served as an aperitif wine with citrus zest and with a several course dinner with oysters, foie gras, roasted chicken with crispy skin, a pork roast with mangoes, a fish in a creamy sauce, lobster, roquefort, died fruits, an apricot pie….spicy asian food such as Peking duck or curry chicken,Serve no colder than 12°C.
