Chateau
Saint-Robert
“Cuvée
Poncet-Deville”
Château Saint-Robert is located in Pujols-sur-Ciron, 45km from Bordeaux. The Ciron river, which flows a few kilometers from the property, allows the formation of morning mists over the appelation in autumn. The estate is located near the prestigious Crus Classés of Barsac, and not far from the Grands Crus of Pessac-Léognan. The history of Château Saint-Robert goes back a long way, as does the Graves, a historic Bordeaux vineyard. Château Saint-Robert was originally a seigneury, otherwise known as a “noble house”. It was during the 19th century that the Domaine de Saint-Robert became a recognized wine chateau, under the aegis of its new owner, Mr. Poncet Deville Jeune, who made a major contribution to improving the vineyard. The white wines of Château Saint-Robert have been certified organic by Ecocert since 2014. The red wines are cultivated in the traditional way and in sustainable agriculture. In 2018, the Helfrich family beacame the owners of this domain.

The owner's pitch.
For our red, Cabernet Sauvignon planted on clay and limestone expresses all its freshness and finesse. The use of new barrels for aging in a moderate proportion adds complexity to finesse. For our white wine, Sauvignon Blanc on limestone reveals the best of this grape variety. It is a terroir of great white.”

Saint-Robert cuvée Poncet-Deville Red : Beautiful dark garnet color. Intense nose of black fruits (black cherry…) with hints of mocha. A nice fresh attack, firm, on the fruit. The tannins are still fiery, but the roundness of the fruit rubs shoulders with nice spicy finish. Extremely nice material for this very promising wine.
Saint-Robert cuvée Poncet-Deville White : This wine reveals a particularly expressive grapefruit, peach and passion fruit nose. It starts of lively and fresh gravitating towards a more round and aromatic explosion on the palate (citrus, passion fruit, pineapple). A fresh and elegant finish
