Appellation : Pessac-Léognan
Chateau Léognan
Nestled in an unspoilt green setting, Château Léognan was reborn in 2007 by Chantal and Philippe Miecaze, who became the owners.
The estate’s origins date back to the 17th century, and its history has been shaped by the people who have lived here. First the monks, then the couple Emma and Matthieu Seurin, the true founders of Château Léognan as we know it today. It was their story that led to the construction of our chapel in the 19th century, which in turn inspired Chantal and Philippe Miecaze to create the label for the estate’s grand vin.

The owner's pitch.
“We didn’t come to Léognan out of family duty, but rather out of passion, and it’s with this same passion that for 18 years now we’ve been working to sublimate what our vineyard has to offer. More than anything else, we want to preserve this vineyard, because every year, it’s the land that gives birth to excellence. We owe it respect and care, so that we can perpetuate this miracle of nature.
Since 2010, Château Léognan has also become a place where every wine lover is welcome.
“As soon as we arrived at Château Léognan, we wanted to welcome visitors to the estate, so that they could discover our profession and the history of this marvellous place. Today, we offer wine tours and tastings, as well as a hotel and restaurant that puts the estate’s wines in the spotlight a little more.”
