Chateau Tauzinat l’Hermitage

Appellation : Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Tauzinat l’Hermitage nestles on the heights of the Saint-Emilion clay-limestone plateau. This land of vines nestles in a beautiful hilly countryside, on the edge of century-old trees from which it takes its name: the tauzin oaks. This place has a remarkable geological structure and micro-climate. The clay, dense and deep, rests on the limestone rock. The relief and altitude of the site give it a sunny and temperate exposure.
It was in 1953 that Antoine Moueix, conquered by the charm of the wine and the place, acquired Tauzinat l’Hermitage. This family estate, with a rich history of more than 3 centuries, is today in the hands of the 5th generation. With respect and benevolence, Claire Moueix and her husband, Cyril Basteau, preserve, guard and preciously cultivate this family treasure.

The owner's pitch.

“Since we took over the management of Tauzinat l’Hermitage, we have been committed to revealing its unique personality. Vintage after vintage, we are in the field, observing, tasting and maturing our know-how. In the vineyard and in the cellar, we draw inspiration from both modern technology and traditional methods. The apparent simplicity of Tauzinat l’Hermitage displays no sense of the impending crafted complexity.Choosing the cultural techniques, the vinification and the ageing that will sublimate its wine requires an ongoing and essential questioning.Revealing its personality requires attentiveness at each and every moment, the art and skill of a goldsmith, and a good dose of instinct !”

The wine of Tauzinat l’Hermitage is distinguished from a classic Saint-Emilion Grand Cru and will astonish by its unique personality.
The first thing that tasters perceive, whether novice or enlightened, is the fruit : a flavorful fruit that is both intense and vibrant. A plethora of red berry fruit, but also spices, flowers or even mushrooms and minerality.
Equally surprising are the silky and savory tannins that provide enormous delicacy and charm !
Tauzinat l’Hermitage is a wine of charm, with a lovely aromatic complexity.
